A Fully Embedded Approach

iSirona provides a vendor-neutral software solution, integrated with Allscripts, that collects patient data from any device and delivers it to the EMR. Nurses simply log in to Allscripts to collect, verify and submit patient data.
From a clinical perspective, using iSirona couldn't be easier. Here's how it works:
1. Identify the patient within Allscripts.
Clinicians navigate to the appropriate patient record within the Allscripts application.
2. Associate the device to the patient.
Using the iSirona tab within Allscripts, clinicians associate the correct medical device to the intended patient and can easily see which devices are in use.
3. Populate the flowsheet.
Using the "Auto Enter" menu selection within Allscripts, data from the selected device is pulled into the flowsheet for the intended patient.
4. Authenticate the data.
The clinician reviews and authenticates the data in Allscripts and selects "Save" to update the patient record.

Jefferson Regional Medical Center
This 475-bed hospital, which serves 200,000 patients, began device integration in 2004 with bedside monitors. They’ve since added standalones such as SERVO-i ventilators. University Health System in San Antonio
This forward-thinking facility began integration efforts in 2006 and achieved Stage 6 ranking in the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model in 2007. They first used iSirona to connect wireless vital signs monitors in low-acuity environments. Today, they are ranked as one of the top 12 health systems in the U.S. for achieving a high level of health information technology integration.
University Hospitals
This 10-hospital system selected iSirona for its ability to embed directly into its Allscripts system, and its functionality that allowed hospitals to associate devices directly to patients versus a specific bed.
